Downloads or listeners? Celebrating 10k
We're delighted to share this today. This is the number of times that someone has requested our podcast on Podbean.
Downloads don't actually mean listeners. If you listen to us, or other podcasts, then you may open the app - Podbean, for example - and you may listen to the latest episode, or another. Not everyone listens to every episode and that’s where the download versus listen becomes confusing.
And the figure of 10,000 (it's actually 10.1k now) on Podbean doesn't include Apple or Spotify. It also doesn’t include the website traffic which adds on another 2-3k to this figure - assuming that the listeners on our website don’t also use Apple, Spotify or Podbean!
All of this isn’t to say that these download numbers should not be ignored. They give us valuable insights. In short, the download numbers for any podcast are not the whole picture and only form a backdrop. The feedback received from listeners is more valuable than numbers can ever be.
With that all in mind we’ve put together a Review page where we invite you to give your feedback - in confidence and anon if you prefer. We’ve asked a few questions on favourite episodes, who you’d like to appear on the podcast and what we can do better. It’s always lovely to hear from our listeners and we welcome your words.
We’re also planning for 2022 so if you’ve got a project coming up, a cause that you are keen to share or a subject you’d like to discuss and be our guest, then here’s how to be on the show. Pop your details into the form and we’ll be back in touch to discuss.
